Turin International Book Fair 2026

The Civil Protection Department will take part in the Turin International Book Fair, scheduled for May 14–18, 2026, at Lingotto Fiere. The 38th edition of the Fair, titled The world saved by kids, celebrates the value of younger generations, civic engagement, and the fresh, curious perspective through which we interpret and understand the present.
Inside Pavilion 2, at booth H146–J145, the Department presents Infinite tales, one story: an interactive space dedicated to sharing stories, experiences, and the legacy of Civil Protection through short tales, podcasts, historical footage, and a photo exhibition.
The Tales section features selected excerpts from contemporary fiction, novels, and reportage that recount pivotal moments in the history of Italian Civil Protection. Earthquakes, floods, volcanic eruptions, and other disasters are woven into the fabric of collective memory through literature.
Alongside the tales, there will be two original podcasts from the Civil Protection Department. Stringersi in una parola — a series in which writers engage in dialogue starting from a single word, reflecting on how stories can preserve the memory of emergencies and foster care for communities and territories; and DPC – Dove Parliamo di Clima, an educational format dedicated to weather and climate, designed to explore atmospheric phenomena, behaviors, and tools that help us better understand and prevent risks.
The program also includes the photo exhibition Penta Pinta Pin Però, produced in collaboration with Anpas, focusing on the 2016 earthquake in Central Italy and daily life inside a temporary tent camp, seen through the eyes of children, along with a selection of historical footage from the Luce Archive documenting major Italian emergencies. Images and testimonies that portray not only destruction, but also the strength of communities to respond, endure, and overcome disasters.
During this edition of the Book Fair, the booth will also host a rich and engaging program of meetings and presentations focused on prevention, responsibility, and the promotion of a culture of civil protection.
